The Blonde Phoenix Rises

The Real and True Story of The LazyCook

Like the great chefs of old; Savant, Escoffier, the Roux Brothers and Colonel Sanders, James The LazyCook is a man who has dedicated himself, selflessly to the culinary arts and to their highest expression. His story starts from when he was a small child, kneeling on a kitchen chair watching and helping his mother to make culinary delights.

In those days, when the family was poor and eked out a living by selling gravel back to the local shire council, food was simple and scarce, but this did nothing to dampen James' mother's desire to give her son a grounding in good cooking.

James remembers saturday afternoons in the Queensland heat, standing over the bubbling copper pot of water, sugar and food colouring waiting for the time when he could pour the toffee mixture out onto a buttered tray and begin the chore of kneading it into wonderful shapes and other things. Or on winter evenings when dinner would consist of a Spanish omelette, made with farm fresh eggs, vegetables from mother earth all fried up in good old dripping. And then for dessert, for there was always dessert in this loving household, strawberry jam roll-polly, served with piping hot custard. Ah, they were the days!

And so, from these simple and humble beginnings, the love of food, cooking and the understanding of what makes a little go far was instilled into this little blonde headed boy. Ever since, James The LazyCook has taken these loving word from his kindly mother with him, and they have inspired him to strive to be the best at what he does in the kitchen, "Get your bloody are in here, or I'll tan you black and blue. And if you leave one scrap of food, you won't be gettin' any breakfast. Ya little bugger". Such love, such inspiring words to live by.

With those words ringing in his ears, as well as others, James The LazyCooK went on to work hard and perspire hard in the hellhole kitchens of great and magnificent chefs, so he too, could make the lightest of souffle`s, the tangiest bisques and have his own television show on cable.

Now that day has come. James The LazyCooK is proud to bring you his decades of experience, his millions of hours slaving in kitchens to perfect the culinary art of 'slacky-laziness'. For all that time, through all those gruelling humiliating hours of scrubbing baked-on pans and burnt-on pots, he held a dark and terrible secret.

That secret would haunt him for the majority of his life; but then one morning, early as the birds started to sing their calls and the faint glimmer of a-new-day's sun peaked over the eastern horizon, James woke with the remnants of a dream that would change his life forever.

That dream told him to take the words; laziness, quick & easy, simple and time management and to make them really mean something to the billions of people who don't want to cook, won't cook or can't cook, and set them free!

And so that is the story of how a little boy found his way in the world, and became a celebrity idol in the kitchen to billions, his face splashed across the covers of weekly magazines, interviewed by chat show hosts the world over and sort for his councel by those in high power.

As the great writer and crackonture, James Francis Scott said of The LazyCooK, "He is one of the most talented people I have ever seen in a kitchen. His style, his finesse, is unequaled".So now, you know the real man behind the glitter and hype.
